What is Henna?
Henna is a form of body art. It has been a women's cultural practice for thousands of years in the Middle-Eastern part of the world, North Africa and Egypt. Decoration is applied to the hands and/or feet.
Reaching the U.S. in the 1990's, henna has become widely accepted as a form of temporary, personal adornment and body art.
Applied in the form of a paste, ours is hand-mixed by the artist and owner of Cape Cod Henna, Jo Ann Whittemore. Simple, safe ingredients are henna powder, pure essential oils, lemon juice and sugar. The paste dries in 10-15 minutes, the stain takes 3 days to reach it's peak color and will last for 7-12 days. Aftercare instructions are important!
Should you need henna for a special event, try to book 3 days prior for the deepest, richest color.
Henna goes everywhere and loves parties. birthdays, Sweet Sixteens are perfect! Girls Night Out, bridal and baby showers, corporate events, craft and music festivals.
